On Monday 9 October, our senior students
headed off to
Central Queensland for S4 Science Camp
.
We joined with Millaroo, Ravenswood, Clare, Maidavale and Jarvisfield State Schools to make the trek west to visit the dinosaur trail.
The students visited Hughenden and the Flinders Discovery Centre where we met Mutt the Muttaburrasaurus; Richmond where we visited Kronosaurus Korner and went fossil fossicking with the curator Michelle Johnston and finally to Winton where we visited Australian Age of Dinosaurs and travelled out to Lark Quarry to view the dinosaur stampede tracks.
The students all learned a great deal about Queensland’s prehistoric past and found a new fascination for dinosaurs and marine reptiles.
